The Marian Bulletin Screening

2:40-3:40 PM, English Time

Ms. Basilio announced that the screening for the MB (Marian Bulletin) will be held today after dismissal at the Library. Knowing Generosity, halos lahat na-excite. And actually, i'm one of them. Kasi I was part of the MB last school year as the Assistant Sports Editor (tag-teamed with my Sports Editor, Ate Jacq)
I am planning to step up to one level. And that is, being the Sports Editor. Haha, corny!) But the truth is, I find sports as my comfort zone. Naging interesado kasi ako on the words that sports announcers are using. Kaya nga I always watch the PBA, most especially the UAAP (although I just started watching it during its 71st Season). I'm also looking forward for its courtside reporters' forecast of the game (because for everybody's knowledge, I'm a FRUSTRATED courtside reporter) because they enrich my sports vocabulary everytime I watch them. Sana nga lang matupad yung frustration kong yun. Haha :]

THE MOMENT OF TRUTH
MB Screening

Grabe, this is it!
At first I was seated beside my classmates, namely: Gelo, Carlson, Claui, Lyka, Diane, and Clarose. After some talks, biglang nag-announce si Clarose,
"Wala pang nag-aapply sa Associate, Asst. Assoc., and sa Managing Ed. Try natin mga 'pre."
This made me consider Managing Editor the position to apply for. Sabi nga nila, walang masamang mag-try. Pero sa tingin ko, masyado siyang mataas compared to being an Asst. Sports Ed before. So para hindi ko biglain yung sarili ko, I finally decided to apply for Sports Editor.
As for my other classmates, they tried their luck in applying for the Assoc., Asst. Assoc., and Managing Ed while I and some of my other classmates applied for the section editors, like me.
Then, we were sorted out according to the type of section we're applying for. I was seated with Julie (lil sis of Ate Jacq), my classmate Ron, and two other freshie students applying for Sports Writer like them. But as for me, I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO APPLIED FOR SPORTS ED!
My mood was slightly altered when we were given the topic to write about. Kasi we were asked to write about our favorite sport and how it would help the youth today. As always, I wrote all about Basketball. Kasi of all the sports, basketball talaga yung kabisadung-kabisado ko.
We were given 30 minutes to compose our entries, but it was only during halfway of the time limit that my mind started working. I was just about to finish the middle part of my entry when there was only a minute left for us to finish. S'YEMPRE, NANGARAG NA AKO kaya tinapos ko na agad yung entry ko kahit na parang I left my entry hanging in the end. Good thing I was able to conclude already dun sa last part ng entry ko, answering the question given to us.
Ang mas lalo pa kasing nagpatagal sa'kin was my hands getting frozen and it's really hard for me to write. My mind tells me to hurry up, but my hands can't go with it. Ayun, kahit hindi ko natapos at least I was able to give justice to my entry.

Hai, what a very tiring day. Find time to take some rest guys. It will be of really great help, especially to those who have the busiest schedule in the world (like me? Haha)
Relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy everything life brings!

H1N1 Case Confirmed!

June 17.
Parang kahapon lang everything are all rumors. Pero this time, it's FOR REAL.

There's a confirmed case of H1N1 in Saint Mary's College of Meycauayan.

Knowing about this made me feel so blessed. Kasi hindi galing sa High School Department yung kaso (where I belong). Pero ang masama, from the Elementary yung tinamaan ng virus. And according to my classmate Rikki, classmate ng lil bro niya yung batang yun (Rikki's brother, Kristian, belongs to Grade 6-Pearl). Nag-alala ako para kay Chan-Chan (Kristian) kasi he's got possible chances of being infected of the virus also. Good thing that student is on self-quarantine, to prevent him from passing on the virus to other people.

Despite the fact na may H1N1 na yung isang estudyante ng ESMA, the school's administration decided to still push through with the classes. And I admire them for that. Nakita ko yung logic nilang Why suspend classes? Only one out of the thousands of the studentd got infected, and it doesn't entitle the whole school to suffer the consequences of the classes' suspension JUST BECAUSE OF ONLY ONE CONFIRMED CASE.

And as I see it, they made the right decision.

I'm not questioning the wisdom and authority of those high-calibre universities na nag-suspend ng classes just beacause of one or two cases of H1N1. My only point is, they should have considered those civilians who may suffer.. Kasi, as the classes will resume, MAS MARAMING ESTUDYANTE yung mahihirapang maghabol sa lessons compared to those VERY LITTLE NUMBER of infected persons.

ESMA, I salute you. dahil isinapalaran n'yo yung buong school FOR THE SAKE OF THE WELFARE OF THE MARIAN STUDENTS. You really did the right decision, kasi yung Grade 6 student na yun ang UNA AT HULING kaso ng H1N1 sa SMCM.

Congrats ESMA!

Smells like an H1N1 outbreak in SMCM... Hmm...

June 16, 4:40 PM.
The bell rang to mark the end of our class today. As usual, ngarag na naman ang buong Genero sa dami ng assignments plus quizzes to be ready for tomorrow.

Then, an inquiry of my classmate, Clarose, caught my attention.
"Pinapatanong ni Ma'am (Reyes) kung sino nag-abroad sa Genero nung bakasyon."

After the very moment that I heard this, naisip ko tuloy... "Bakit? May H1N1 ba sa ESMA?" Habang nag-iisip ako, bigla akong kinalabit ni Carlson... "Talaga?! May H1N1 na sa ESMA?!" I was really surprised with the manner he said this. Parang masaya pa kasi siya. Pero hindi ko naman siya masisisi. Kasi if there's REALLY a confirmed case of H1N1 in our school, just like those top universities and colleges in the country... MAWAWALAN NG PASOK.

But to tell you honestly, I also think the same way like Carlson. Syempre, we just find time to rest during weekends. Madalas pa nga instead of a rest day eh project making day pa with your group o di kaya practices. There's no time for us to relax anymore. Just like last school year, classes were suspended for two consecutive days due to a typhoon. Masaya SANA, kasi pahinga ang utak ko for a couple of days. Ang MASAMA nga lang, the following week was our periodical exams. Kaya kahit na nakataas ang Signal No. 3 nun sa Bulacan, I went to school to get my notebooks and books para makapag-review. But during the weekend, our Class President last year (and STILL this year) Gelo sent us a message, telling that the exams will be moved nex next week. Masayang malaman nung una, pero nakakahinayang din kasi it felt like my effort of getting my things sa kasagsagan ng bwisit na bagyo got all wasted. And the WORST, we were subjected to have Saturday classes to make up for those days na nawalan ng pasok.

Come to think of it, pinagdarasal nating mangyari ang mga ganung bagay. Pero in the end, TAYO ang magsa-suffer. Hello?! Your health is at stake.

We just have to let things come and go. Keep in mind that they happen for a purpose (hindi dahil sa pinagdasal mo yung mangyari), and that everything is according to His will.

"When things don't happen the way you want them to, just SMILE :]"

5:45 AM.
I just arrived to school. After a minute or two, I went asking for the payments of my co-Officers (coz I'm a CAT Officer). As usual, wala na namang nagbayad.. This week na kaya yung deadline para sa gold plates namin, and for Ma'am Noem's and Sir Allan's shirts..

Around 6:10 AM.
Nagpasama si Nej sa'kin sa Saluysoy to check on those persons assigned for the DETAILS. As usual pa rin, WALA kaming dinatnang tao. They showed up at around 6:30 AM (which is already late.. ehem Corps Commander.. Haha :] )

Around 6:35 AM.
THE TEMPER TIME.

There's this Fourth Year student like me who entered in the Saluysoy gate.

"PANTS.."
Nung tinaas niya yung laylayan ng pantalon niya, PRINTED SOCKS (which is a violation in the rules and regulations of ESMA).

"Printed socks, lista.."
Inisnab kami ni Delta COY. So, we ran after him.
We blocked his way, pero kumaripas siya ng takbo. (BANAS NOH!?)

So, we listed his name on the violators' list.

His name?
RONALDO MACTAL, JR. of IV-MODESTY.

Nung nilista namin siya, we don't know yet his section. I just wrote the note:
"di po namin alam section niya, tumakas po kasi.."

Yamot na yamot talaga ako 'nun. He's telling us that he didn't commit any violation, but what he just did is A VIOLATION (tingnan pa niya sa Handbook..)

7:00 AM.
God is really full of surprises!

(Haha, he deserves it :] )

Ayun, that thing brought my mood back. Thank You, Lord! :]

11:50-12:50 PM
Filipino time.
Sir Benjie grouped us into five groups.

Count off from one to five.

I belonged to Group 3 (if I'm not mistaken).

Peace out!

Gadget Review

Due to the fast development of technology, there are numerous new innovations (particularly gadgets) being released to the market. They are of really great help, when you think of the benefits they offer. But, they are also a means to show people that you are "in the zone" or simply "in".

Here are five of the latest innovations of our technology today, and are to hit the market soon.

Sony PSP Go to Arrive In October
Anyone not aware about Sony's PSP? Almost all of us own one (sometimes even two), coz it has a lot of features. Mainly for game downloads and manipulation of those. Another is having a music section, where you can put some songs you are into and for your listening pleasure. There are so many features, all for our entertainment and comfortability. That's why when I heard all about the newest concept of PSP to arrive on October in North America and the following month for Asia and Europe, I got excited! It's because, I REALLY LOVE the new face of the PSP. It looks so compact and trendy. And I think, having the new face means having new features to watch out for! I really can't wait for November to come (coz it's also my Dad's birthday month!). So, let's just wait guys!

Flower Bud Computer Workstation Shell
When I first heard the name of this new innovation, I really got curious on how it looks like. When I got to see what is it like, I seem to get the reason why it was named like this.

The workstation is adjustable, so you can be seated in your most comfortable way. And also, it features a fiberglass seat which is available in a variety of colors to choose from. The chair also rotates, adding comfort again for you. This one is perfect for those who wants privacy in their work (like me), coz it's really hard to concentrate when there are those people out there who are also working and are cramming, and other unpleasant working habits. Most probably, you may absorb the vibes they are exerting towards their work, and you don't want that to happen.

This workstation is truly a blessing. Thanks to Won Shik Yu who designed it.

Led Toothbrush Makes Your Teeth Whiter
Of all the new gadgets I've known today, I think this one is a major necessity for all of us. Simply because it's a toothbruah, and we are using it everyday as part of our personal hygiene. The only thing that makes this toothbrush different from the usual ones, is it has a built-in LED light.

According to the Japanese, LED helps prevent illnesses and will shine up our teeth. I think, we should grab one of this because of the health benefits that it offers. Especially those who are having weak immune system (and those who doesn't have that shiny white teeth.. Haha :] )

Moonlight Laptop
When I first saw this laptop, I found it very stylish. Even though for me at first it looked like a satellite in space, I found it so original. There's no laptop like this nowadays, and even before. And I think, I would REALLY LOVE to have one. (Haha :] )

The fact that it is new, it means also new features. And, the feature that I really like is that it not only one.. but two touch screens! A 16:9 and a 4:3. Could you imagine that? These touch screens will replace the keyboard, and add some work for the screen. (MG, I want to have this one now! :] )

The 4:3 screen can be used as a mouse pad and can be adjoined to the larger 16:9 screen. Whoa, this is really a revolutionary one.

And, the frame illuminates. The reason why it is named the Moonlight Laptop.

Wiki Digital Video Camera
When I first saw the picture of this cam, I thought it was a cellular phone. Because it's so small to be called a video cam. the reason why it is small, is for it to fit in our pocket. Compact, trendy, and techie to know that!

It's just like the usual video cameras. The only difference is its size.

So, instead of spending thousands of Pesos for OH SO BIG video cameras, why not switch to Wiki's Video Cam? It would really help you capture those moments, and would give you the comfort you will not gain from those heavy large cams (which are supposed to be used by cameramen of TV shows :] )

If you would want to know more about these gadgets and a lot more, you may visit the blogsite of my Computer teacher, Mr. Michael Botis:

P.S.
I'm so sorry if I wasn't able to have the pictures posted. It's because some are not available for viewing and ther's what we call TIME LIMIT in creating this post for today.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam :]

Monica

My First :]

7:20-8:20 AM.
The bell rang, giving the signal for the start of the classes for today. After some few reminders from our dearest adviser, he entered our classroom. Not a new face for us, coz we already experienced his teaching prowess last school year. And, he's no other than... Mr. Michael Botis! :)

We spent one whole hour with him in our classroom discussing our requirements for his subject, and some sort of reminiscing the past. The next and last hour was spent at the Computer Laboratory, giving us the task of creating our own Gmail account and a new Blogger account (coz we already made one last school year.. :] )

While I'm creating my accounts, I got to exchange comments through Friendster with my classmate last school year (and supposed to be, STILL this school year) who is in the States right now (particularly in Pennsylvania). I didn't have any idea that he's online. He surprised me with him having to reply. (WOW, special mention ka dito oh Loui.. Haha :] )

It was really irritating, coz the Internet connection is OH SO SLOW (peace out ESMA :] ) Good thing I have that enough patience to wait for quite long.

Aside from him, I (together with my section, IV-Generosity) we also got to meet some of our teacher today namely: Sir Gaddi, Sir Ambat, Sir Sta. Teresa, Ms. Basilio (my adviser during my Second Year), and Sir Salvador (the one I'm really looking forward to :] ).

This has been a happy, at the same time tiring day (coz we have to shop for our requirements to be checked tommorow.. MG :] )

And, this is also my first entry for this blog site. Something to be considered MY FIRST. :]
